Water Photography
I've always had a fascination with water photography. One of the very first pieces of art that gave me an emotional response was a photograph by Roman Signer called "Wasserstiefel" (rain boots). I saw it in a magazine and immediately fell in love. I cut out this snippet and put it my inspiration binder over 6 years ago. Every once in a while I get it back out just to look at it and feel inspired.
It's been a while since something came across my feed that made me feel like that. Until this past week. An amazing photographer and artist, Von Wong, recently did an underwater photoshoot of a 50 year old shipwreck in Bali. The images are truly breathtaking. The timing of this post couldn't have been more perfect. A couple of years ago I bought an underwater camera for documenting summer adventures. I only played with it a handful of times, but always had so much fun with it.
Over the past couple of weeks I've had this strong desire to bring it back out and try making magic with it. The stunning work from Von Wong was just the inspiration I needed - the obsession is BACK! So keep checking the Facebook page as I stumble my way through relearning how to use it and seeing if I can make any magic of my own. Also, keep a look out for a chance to participate in some fun outdoor mini summer sessions. I need lots of fun subjects (think sprinklers, water balloon fights, pool days and more). STAY TUNED! :)
